Kenneth Underhill and Iain Bremner are flying the flag for ICSR at the Rendez-Vous de Septembre this week. With those who have not attended often having little knowledge of what the event really entails, Kenneth will be sharing his reflections and insights with us over the next few days. If you are in Monte Carlo and would like to catch up with Kenneth and Iain, do get in touch.

Monday 11th September – Our Top Tips For a Successful RVS

With the 2023 edition of the Rendez-Vous de Septembre in full swing, here are some top tips from Kenneth & Iain to help get the most out of the event.

  1. Effective diary management is crucial. Be organised, but be flexible – keep time for the unexpected and unplanned. And in the words of Mark Geoghan, don’t be a diary wrecker – meetings should be for 30 minutes and should start on the hour or half-hour only!
  2. Look beyond the official events. So much of #RVS2023 will happen away from the official programme.
  3. Dress code – this has definitely followed the trends of London and other major business centres, with a more casual approach now very much the norm. (Look out for Kenneth & Iain in their ICSR branded polo shirts!)
  4. There can be something of a fixation over where people are staying, but with so many attending, “Residence Privée” is probably now more common than the main hotels. Everyone will gravitate towards the main event locations and hotels, so that is where you will see them still.
  5. Price inflation is a factor we have all become used to in the last year or so, but Monte Carlo has been the master of this for years! The prices can be eye-watering, and with a glass of wine often cheaper than a mineral water, you shouldn’t judge people by their choice of drink! Iain’s top tip though is to take the train between the airport and the Principality. It’s much cheaper, doesn’t take much longer and you can enjoy some stunning coastal views.
