Kenneth Underhill is flying the flag for ICSR at the Rendez-Vous de Septembre (RVS) this year, returning after a successful trip to the principality in 2023.

With the biggest firms sending teams that sometimes extend into the hundreds of people, it is no surprise that RVS is said to be the biggest single event happening in Monaco annually. Regulation is on the main agenda for 2024 with the session titled “How could regulatory changes across Europe, Asia, Bermuda etc impact investments and financial returns” demonstrating the significance attributed by investors to national regulatory agendas in determining their investment strategies.

Assessing the options for authorisation in the UK is a core part of the services offered by ICSR and if that is a conversation you would like to explore, whether at the RVS or subsequently, do get in touch with Kenneth.

Kenneth will again be sharing his experiences of the RVS in a series of video blogs over the course of the event, building on his video diary from 2023. You can subscribe to our YouTube channel here if you want to be alerted when new videos are posted.

If you are in Monte Carlo and would like to catch up with Kenneth Underhill, do get in touch.

Our Top Tips For a Successful RVS

If you are heading to the 2024 edition of the Rendez-Vous de Septembre, here are the top tips from Kenneth to help get the most out of the event.

  1. Look beyond the official events. So much of #RVS2024 will happen away from the official programme, although with regulation on the agenda, we will be paying attention to that too.
  2. Dress code – this has definitely followed the trends of London and other major business centres, with a more casual approach now very much the norm. (Look out for Kenneth in his ICSR branded polo shirts!)
  3. There can be something of a fixation over where people are staying, but with so many attending, “Residence Privée” is probably now more common than the main hotels. Everyone will gravitate towards the main event locations and hotels, so that is where you will see them still. Kenneth will be staying at The Hermitage with Artex and Arthur J Gallagher & Co. colleagues.
  4. Effective diary management is crucial. Be organised, but be flexible – keep time for the unexpected and unplanned. Kenneth’s contact details are available here if your plans change and you find time to catch up.
  5. Price inflation is a factor we have all become used to in the last few years – but Monte Carlo is the master of this! Prices can be eye-watering with a glass of wine often cheaper than a mineral water, so don’t judge people by their choice of drink!
